Local History...
    For decades, Rochester's heated Silver Lake has attracted large concentrations of Giant Canada geese.  The lake provides an open water "rest stop" for the giant birds along their southern migration route.  The bountiful grain fields around Rochester provide the high energy food the geese need to continue their journey.
 
    This combination of open water and plentiful food draws thousands of these giant game birds to this area each fall.

    Exceptional goose hunting opportunities exist for both the experienced waterfowler and the novice hunter.
